Helping people through the COVID-19 pandemic
The Covid 19 Pandemic has really changed the face of our practice and it appears that it will affect the way we practice for an unforeseeable time. Since being released from quarantine, Dr. Causey has been treating emergency patients on a limited schedule. We are now beginning to reopen in phases. One of the biggest issues our practice faces is the potential threat of another Shelter in Place Order. Because of this real possibility, we are holding off on starting any new memberships or restarting any memberships. This means that during this time adjustments will be $29.00 per visit per person. This will not apply to those who have stayed on active membership.
We know that many of you, including us, have been affected by loss of income due to the pandemic. Because of this, many of you will not be able to afford care for you and your family.
MIssion Chiropractic is a new system that we will begin implementing immediately. When Nicole and I sat down and came up with the idea of The Back Shak, we had Psalms 9:18 in mind, “For the needy shall not always be forgotten, and the hope of the poor shall not perish forever.”
We wanted to create a chiropractic practice that made chiropractic care available to everyone and to run our office as a mission to help people. Now, I hope it doesn’t come as a surprise to any of you, but our mission is still to help people! It is because of this that we will be instituting a Mission Chiropractic Box until further notice. Our goal is to ensure our patients are able to afford chiropractic care during this national emergency.
The Mission Chiropractic Box will work in the following manner:
The box will be located on the wall over the Nooma Drinks.
If you cannot afford our regular fee of $29.00 per adjustment per person, you will have the option to deposit whatever you can in the box. For example, if you are a family of 4 and cannot afford $116.00 for the adjustments of your family's visit but you can afford $50.00, you would put $50.00 in the Mission Chiropractic Box.
We will ask you which option you will be choosing after you are adjusted. Most of you know that we are not high pressure sales people and we are not here to judge you. We are firm believers that your decisions are between you and God. We are glad to be able to offer you this service.
We do ask that no one takes advantage of the Mission Chiropractic Box because abusing it will cause us to have no other choice than to discontinue it. What is an abuse of our mission box? While people are truly struggling to pay their basic essentials, we do not consider privileges essentials. Think of the things in your life that are pleasures like coca-cola, ice cream and yes, even chocolate. Please base your decision to use the box not on whether you can still afford the soda after your adjustment. Instead, decide that the importance of the adjustment is more than your need for the soda.
Mission Chiropractic Box payments MUST be made in cash. This is to keep our operating expenses as low as possible by not having to pay any fees, which is even including bounced check fees.
We will not track what you put in the box and it is designed to be anonymous. This means that when you use the box, we will not be capable of giving you a receipt to show what you paid for your service.
If you have a credit for chiropractic services on your account, this credit must be utilized before using the Mission Chiropractic Box.
The funds received from Mission Chiropractic will be used to keep our doors open. This is also a way that if you would like to give a non-deductible gift of chiropractic to another, you can utilize the box. Picture it as giving a gift card to someone you don’t know.
Let me emphasize that you should not be ashamed to use the box because we have implemented it to help our patients. Please don’t be prideful but rest assured that we care about you and your families, therefore, please use the Mission Chiropractic Box!

We are also running with restrictions. We are only scheduling for select days and time periods. We are allowing one family or one person in at a time. Also, because of standards sent by our malpractice insurance, all patients are required to wear a mask while in our office.
